Talks to sell the Dave Buster’s chain of restaurants and sports game entertainment centers have fallen through, mounting another challenge to the efforts of its private equity sponsor, Oak Hill Capital Partners, to exit the investment in the company it bought in May 2010 for $570 million. Dave Buster’s financial advisors, Goldman Sachs and Jefferies, had been talking to several prospective buyers, including PE firms Onex and Apollo Global Management, which already includes Chuck E. Cheese in its stable, but those talks went nowhere. Now DB is likely to revisit an exit strategy via the IPO market.
